We wish to make our customers of some policies we have introduced:
No Show Fee
We have had to introduce a No Show fee, which means if a dog is booked in with us to be groomed and failed to turn up without 24 hours notice, there will be a fee of %50 of the groom cost. The reason for this is, a small number of people who book, fail to turn up, this means another customer misses out on a potential slot and we lose business.
Failure to pay this fee would mean we would not allow the owner to bring their dog to us to be groomed until the fee is paid.
Cancellation Fee
If you have a dog booked in with us, and need to cancel we require 24 hour notice for this, the reason for this is it then allows us to book another dog in its place. We never used to do this, but we have had a small number of people who book their do in then cancel on the day, and we loose business and another customer looses a slot unnecessarily. The fee will depend on which service/dog was booked in.
Of Course we understand certain situation, we can sympathise with where this may not be possible but we will deal with each individual case as it arises.

Regular bathing of long coated and double coated dogs is recommended, to keep them clean, free of knots/tangles and reduce the chance of skin allergies. Short coated dogs require bathing too, but not as often as double coated dogs, as over bathing a short coated dog can cause its natural oils to come out.
When we bathe a dog we will also ensure its dry and brush it through thoroughly to ensure it is free to knots and tangles, which will keep general upkeep of the coat easier to maintain.
Dogs that require frequent bathing are:
1 Poodles
2. Yorkshire Terriers
3. West Highland White Terriers
4. Schnauzers
5. Spaniels
6. Shih Tzu's / Lhasa apso's
If you need your dog bathed, please bring them in, it is best to ring us beforehand to see if we can bathe your dog on the day as sometimes, as you can imagine we get busy.
Quite often people with short coated dogs, will have their dogs FURminated at the same time

Chesley is the groom with a view to winning at Crufts
Adam Luke
A master dog groomer from Cambridge has won herself a place at next year’s world famous Crufts show.
Chelsey Foster-Johnson came second in the young kennel club competition for 18 to 24 year-olds at the British Dog Grooming Championship in Stoneleigh, near Coventry, this month.
And her careful combing of 9-month-old miniature schnauzer Rudy also won her second overall and guaranteed the pair a spot at Crufts in March.
Chelsey, 22, who runs Poochie Parlour groomers in Arbury Court with her mother Maxine, bought Rudy from a breeder in Leicester earlier this year.
She said: “Your dog has to be 8 months to enter so he was just old enough and it was the first competition I could enter with him.
“I was competing against 24 others in my category so it was tough.”
The competition required participants to set up and spend two hours grooming their pets by whatever method they felt most comfortable, with judges watching throughout, before the dogs’ coats were finely combed at the end for knots and tangles.
Chelsey, who lives in Cambridge’s Meadows Estate, said: “I took a bit of a risk by grooming him by hand stripping, which can take many hours.
“But I managed to do it in the two hours and the judges were very impressed that I had gone for such a full groom.”
And now Chelsey, who has been a part-owner of the Arbury parlour for three and a half years, will be more than a spectator at Crufts.
She said: “We always go to Crufts anyway but now I am very excited about competing.
“I have always wanted to run my own salon – ever since I was small and I had a Yorkshire Terrier.”

Jodie - The King Charles Cavalier Spaniel - Her owner could no longer look after her and Jodie was getting old and needed a home for the rest of her life, we were happy to take her on.
